Our Mission

The Buchanan County Historical Society of Virginia was established for the purpose of preserving and promoting Buchanan County’s rich heritage, especially our early history, folklore, culture, music, and crafts. Since its inception, it has acted as a non-profit organization. The BCHS of Virginia is a major asset to the county, area, Southwest Virginia, the state of Virginia, and the nation.
